What the line items mean
Colorbond standard colours
Eleven Colorbond colours (Surfmist, Shale Grey, Wallaby, Monument, Basalt, Jasper, Manor Red, Cottage Green, Pale Eucalypt, Classic Cream, Night Sky) are included in the base price. Specialty colours like Cove and Dover White add $200–$300.
Insulation
A foam-filled insulated panel adds $400–$700 and is well worth specifying if your garage is integrated under the house, in direct western sun, or used as a workshop. R-value goes from R0.5 (single skin) to R3.0 (insulated).
Decowood timber-look
Digitally-printed woodgrain Colorbond panels — the look of solid timber without the cost or maintenance. Eight grain finishes from Blackbutt to Walnut. Adds $300–$600 to the door.
Automation
A B&D Controll-A-Door or Merlin Tiltmaster motor with two remotes adds $650–$950 to the install. WiFi-enabled openers (Merlin MyQ, B&D SmartPhone) add another $150–$250.
What changes the price up or down
- Reduced headroom. Houses with less than 300mm clearance above the opening need a low-headroom track kit (+$200–$400).
- Awkward access. Steep driveways, narrow side access or upper-storey garages add labour time.
- Removal of old door. Included in our pricing. Disposal of timber or asbestos-suspect doors may add a small fee.
- Window inserts. Each row of window inserts adds $180–$320 to the door.
