Swing driveway gates & automation
Single and double swing driveway gates made to measure — aluminium and steel — with Centurion, ATA and Merlin automation. Toowoomba, Highfields, Ipswich and out across the Darling Downs.
Single & double swing options
Single swing
One leaf, hinged from one post, swinging inward across the driveway. Ideal for openings up to about 3.5m — cottage entries, side gates, pedestrian access and narrow rural driveways.
Double swing
Two leaves that meet in the middle. The standard choice for residential driveways from 3.5m to 6m — quicker to open, kinder to the motors and better looking than one big leaf.
Aluminium swing gates
Powder-coated aluminium frames with slat, vertical-bar or panel infill. Rust-free, lightweight, ideal for coastal-style modern homes across Highfields, Glenvale and Kearneys Spring.
Steel swing gates
Hot-dipped galvanised or powder-coated steel. Built for weight, wind and long spans — the right choice for acreage entries, farm gates and commercial driveways.
Motors & automation
We match the motor to the gate. Most Toowoomba residential double swing gates run beautifully on Centurion Vantage 400 or Merlin Swing A200 articulated arms — quiet, solar-ready and easy to service. Longer or heavier gates suit linear actuators like the Merlin Swing L300 or Centurion R5. For heavy steel acreage entries and commercial driveways we specify Centurion Vector-II underground motors so the mechanism hides in the pier.
Every automation package includes remotes, safety photo beams either side of the gate, obstruction sensing set up per AS/NZS, wireless keypad or intercom options and solar or 240V mains conversion where trenching isn't practical. We also wire up exit loops, GSM/video intercoms and safety edges on request.

Frequently asked questions
Single or double swing — which suits my driveway?
For driveway openings up to about 3.5m a single swing gate is usually cleaner, cheaper and easier to automate. From 3.5m up to about 6m we recommend a double swing (two leaves that meet in the middle) — each leaf stays a manageable weight for the actuator and the gate opens faster because both sides move together. Beyond 6m a sliding gate is usually the better answer.
How much space do I need behind the gate for it to swing open?
The gate needs a clear swing arc from the hinge equal to the leaf width — a 3m single swing needs 3m of clear driveway or grass to swing into. That's why swing gates are a natural fit for acreage entries and setback residential driveways, but tricky on tight urban blocks where the fence line is close to the road. We check the swing envelope on the free site visit.
What's the best swing gate motor?
For most Toowoomba residential double swing gates we fit Centurion Vantage 400 or Merlin Swing A200 articulated-arm motors — reliable, solar-ready and quiet. For heavy steel acreage gates we use Centurion Vector-II underground motors or ram-style linear actuators. Every install includes photo beams, remotes and battery backup where the site can lose mains power.
