2. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
- to cancel your service contract with us; and
- to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
The benefits of our workmanship warranty and of any manufacturer warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law and any other law in relation to the goods and services we supply.
3. Our workmanship warranty
We warrant that our workmanship is free from defects for 12 months from the day the work is completed. This applies to all work we do. If a defect in our workmanship appears within that period, we will repair it at no cost to you.
4. Manufacturer warranties
Manufacturer warranties are given by the manufacturer. Each manufacturer sets its own warranty periods and conditions for its products, and we give you the warranty details for your product when we finish the job. We help you make the claim and carry out warranty work where the manufacturer allows.
5. What is not covered
Our workmanship warranty does not cover:
- damage caused by accident, misuse, vehicle impact, storms, flooding, fire or other events outside our control;
- fair wear and tear, including remote batteries and globes;
- doors, gates or motors that have been repaired, modified or serviced by someone other than us or the manufacturer's authorised agent;
- problems caused by building movement, structural defects, or electrical supply faults;
- products that have not been maintained as the manufacturer recommends; or
- parts or products supplied by the customer.
These exclusions do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. What you need to do
So that we can honour this warranty, please:
- use and maintain your door, gate and motor as the manufacturer recommends, including regular servicing;
- stop using the door or gate if it is not working safely, and contact us promptly;
- give us reasonable access to the site to inspect and fix the problem; and
- keep your invoice as proof of purchase and installation date.
When we receive a valid claim, we will inspect the problem and repair or replace the faulty work or product within a reasonable time.
7. How to make a claim
To make a warranty claim, contact us with:
- your name, phone number and the site address;
- your invoice or job number, if you have it;
- a description of the problem; and
- photos or a short video, if you can.
Call 07 4615 4481, email hello@limitlessgaragedoorsandgates.com.au or write to us at 385 Goombungee Rd, Harlaxton QLD 4350. We will confirm we have received your claim and arrange an inspection.
8. Who pays for a claim
A valid warranty claim costs you nothing. We come out and fix it at our cost, including the inspection, parts and labour.
If we inspect and find the problem is not covered, for example because of one of the exclusions in section 5, we will explain why before doing any work and give you a quote to fix it. A call out fee of $110 applies to a claim that is not covered. If you then ask us to service your door or gate, our normal service call fee of $165 applies.
