What an Annual Service Actually Includes
Not a quick squirt of lubricant and a wave goodbye. Your technician goes over the whole door, top to bottom.
- Spring tension and door balance check
- Cable and drum inspection for fraying, slipping and wear
- Track alignment and fixings checked and adjusted
- Rollers and bearings checked for wear and play
- Hinges, brackets and fixings tightened
- Motor force and travel limits recalibrated
- Safety beam alignment and auto-reverse test
- Lubrication of springs, rollers, hinges and the drive
- Remote and wall button test, batteries checked
Why Servicing Matters
A normal household door does thousands of cycles a year. Every one of those cycles wears the springs and cables a little more. Worn springs and cables are the single most common cause of a door letting go without warning — and when it happens, the door usually stops dead with the car locked inside it.
- Catches worn springs and frayed cables before they snap
- Keeps the safety beams and auto-reverse working properly
- Stops small misalignments turning into bent tracks and panels
- A balanced door means the motor isn't flogging itself to death
- Quieter operation and a door that opens first go
How Often Should You Service It?
- Once a year — normal household door
- Every 6 months — high-use doors opened many times a day
- Every 6 months — commercial and industrial doors
- Every 6 months — coastal properties, where salt attacks springs and fixings
- Every 6 months — dusty rural blocks and sheds off gravel roads
What It Costs, and What Happens If We Find a Fault
Service call from $155
Our service call starts at $155 including GST. That covers your technician coming out, going through the full service checklist on your door, adjusting the balance, limits and safety gear, and lubricating the moving parts.
Anything beyond the service itself — a spring, a set of cables, rollers, a motor — is quoted and confirmed with you on site before any work starts. We never do extra work and hand you a surprise bill.
If we find a fault
Your technician will show you what he's found, explain what it means and how urgent it is, and give you a price on the spot. You decide from there — there's no pressure and no obligation to fix it that day.
If it's something we can sort while we're there and you're happy with the price, we'll usually have the parts on the truck and get it done in the same visit. If it needs a part ordered in, we'll book you back in once it lands. We confirm the price on site before we start, every time.
Doors, motors and gates on the one visit
Most homes we service have more than one thing that moves. If you've got two doors, or a door and a driveway gate, we'll go through the lot while we're on site rather than charging you a second callout later.
What you get
A door that opens first go
Balanced, adjusted and lubricated, so it isn't dragging or shuddering its way up the tracks.
No nasty surprises
Worn springs and cables get picked up while they're still just worn, not after they've let go with the car inside.
Safety gear that actually works
Beams aligned and the auto-reverse tested, which matters if you've got kids or pets around the door.
The price before we start
The service call is from $155. Anything else gets quoted and confirmed on site before your technician picks up a spanner.
Related Services
A service is the cheap end of looking after a door. If yours has already stopped working, that's a job for our garage door repairs team, and if it's let go with a bang it's usually a job for broken spring repairs. Tired openers get sorted under motors and automation, and we service driveway gates the same way — see automatic gates.
Your local mob, not a one-man band
We've been doing this around Toowoomba and the Downs for 12 years. You're not ringing a mobile and hoping.
Family owned, 12 years
Adam and Kristie started this business and they still run it. Same owners, same name on the truck.
A team of 14
That's the difference between “we'll get to you next week” and “we'll get to you”. If one job runs over, another crew picks it up.
Come and see the factory
We've got a real factory and showroom here in Toowoomba. Drop in any time, look at the doors, watch a gate being built. You can't do that with a bloke working out of his home garage.
We back the locals
We sponsor local sporting teams and we look after local families. This is where we live, not just where we work.
We won't ghost you
If something isn't right after we've been, ring us and we'll come back. There's an office, a phone that gets answered, and a business that will still be here next year.
Service Areas
We proudly service homes and rural properties across the Darling Downs, Lockyer Valley and wider South East Queensland.
Garage Door Servicing — Common Questions
How often should I service my garage door?
Once a year for a normal household door. Every six months if the door gets heavy use, if it's on a business or commercial site, or if you're out on a dusty rural block or near the coast where grit and salt chew through rollers and bearings faster.
What does a garage door service include?
Spring tension and door balance check, cable and drum inspection, track alignment, rollers and bearings, hinges and fixings, motor force and travel limit recalibration, safety beam alignment and an auto-reverse test, lubrication of the moving gear, and a remote and battery check.
How long does a garage door service take?
Around 45 to 60 minutes for a standard single or double door. Bigger doors, high-use commercial doors and properties with a few doors to get through take longer — we'll tell you what to expect when you book.
Can you service any brand of garage door?
Yes. We service all the common brands — B&D, Merlin, Gliderol, Centurion, ATA, Boss, Steel-Line, Stoddart, CSI Classic and Grifco commercial gear — plus older doors where the brand badge fell off years ago.
Do you service gates too?
We do. Sliding and swing gates, gate motors, safety beams and remotes all get the same annual once-over. If you've got a door and a gate on the same property we'll do both on the one visit.
